"what products do you use?"

Cassandra has a bit of everything in her makeup kit, but she prefers many products from Napoleon Perdis & MAC. These are suitable for sensitive skin & rarely cause allergic reactions.

"do you provide airbrush makeup?"

The debate is still out on conventional vs airbrush makeup & every artist will have their own opinion. Cassandra only provides a conventional makeup service. Her reasons for not providing airbrush makeup are as follows:

#1 As weddings are so important, Cassandra does not want to have to rely on an airbrush gun. Like any other machine, they require servicing & can  break down.
#2 Between clients, the gun needle has to be changed/cleaned & it can easily become blocked. It takes time to clear it & time is precious on wedding days!
#3 If applied correctly, conventional makeup will last just as long & look just as good, if not better. Cassandra prefers the matte finish of conventional foundation & powder.

"what happens at a makeup trial?"

Makeup trials help clients to view an artist's work, try different products/techniques/colours & make decisions about their wedding makeup before the day. Cassandra's trials differ from other makeup artists'. Her step-by-step trials, with a mirror always at hand, allow clients to have more input & create a relaxed experience with no obligation; in fact, Cassandra encourages clients to wear the makeup for at least a few hours before committing to a booking.

"do you use mineral makeup?"

Cassandra is currently sourcing mineral products suitable to use for her clients.

"do you provide false eyelashes?"

Cassandra's makeup service includes the application of false lashes. These are available in full sets or individuals. Lashes will stay put until you remove your makeup. *please note that false eyelashes differ to eyelash extensions, which are semi-permanent & are best applied by a beauty therapist.

"what will I need for touch ups?"

You should only need a lip colour to touch up your wedding makeup. Cassandra recommends that you choose & purchase your own lip colour for the day. If you have particular concerns about shine on the day, Cassandra recommends that you carry a pressed powder just in case. Cassandra does not sell product, but can make recommendations to her clients upon request.

"what if I cry?"

Cassandra uses waterproof mascaras & eyeliners, so clients are welcome to cry themselves a river!

"do I need to do anything special to my skin before you apply the makeup?"

A normal routine of cleansing, toning, exfoliating & moisturising is all that is needed. Products used do not have to be expensive, nor are costly visits to a beautician absolutely crucial. Don't be persuaded into costly treatments for the benefit of one day, when Cassandra'a makeup will cover any concerns anyway.

"does the makeup need to be heavy?"

No. The placement of the makeup is more important than the amount used. Colours used do not have to be neutral either. Makeup can be applied as lightly or as heavy as desired.

"will I need a primer?"

Cassandra uses a skin primer on her clients if desired. It provides a barrier over the skin, providing a smooth base for foundation to adhere to. It helps foundation to last longer & gives a flawless finish.
